Anyone ever use TOR?

I've just started running a TOR server on my machine because I found the project interesting. TOR is basically a distributed network of servers (called onion routers) that provide organizations and individuals with anonymity and security in their transmission of information.
It's an interesting concept. But if you try to run a TOR server, keep in mind it will use all of your bandwidth unless you limit it in the configuration file. I learned this the hard way.

I have been planning on using it for a very loong time now... needless to say I still have not gotten around to it

Same here
Same here. Maybe you could write an introduction and howto, and publish it as an article at libervis.com?
Sounds interesting, havent heard of it before
So, does it like sheild people's connections like a firewall? Or something similair?
IIRC it picks a random series of servers, and encrypts packets in such a way that every server only knows which server was before it, and which one is next. Because each server has a different owner, it should be impossible to know at the same time where a packet first came from and where it is going eventually.
Cool, that is a really good idea, and really nice of you olive to do it for people
Privacy is something that people think they have with the net, but don't
We need to restore it... somehow
I have once tried this at my school's computers to edit pages at Wikipedia, but it appears that it doesn't work at all here
According to this, wikipedia blocks tor from writing, because of a few jerks abusing wikipedia trough tor.
Anyhow, it wouldn't surprise me if tor is blocked by the "great firewall" of China.
