It has come to my attention that the current development-version of Debian is making quite good progress and a new release, labelled 5.0, is scheduled for the end of this year.
But as we all know it is not uncommon to for the Debian-team to miss their release-date, so maybe we should try to hold back hopes for a new Debian under the xmas-tree, and be even more delighted if they really make it.
An eyeopener was the notice that Debian 5 may contain KDE 4.1, which I think would be something really new for Debian, bringing such a new piece of software.
