Community Wiki for PolishLinux.org!
I set up a community Wiki for PolishLinux.org (can be accessed by: http://wiki.polishlinux.org or http://linux.wikidot.com) using the great Wikidot.com engine.
I would like this wiki to be a place where everyone can edit the content of the website, especially the detailed descriptions of the distributions. I also hope to get descriptions of more distros this way, since anyone can edit the Wiki. Anyone can also add new wiki pages, but for that you need to be a registered Wikidot user (which requires only a few simple steps).
Right now I put on the front page the links to the descriptions of all distros that I believe should be enhenced (basically all except for 3 BSD-s which have a very good descriptions, Ubuntu and Slackware -- the latter one will be translated soon from Polish so there is no sens to edit the old version for now).
I hope you like the idea of community-driven website editing. I think it's much easier to participate this way than to send me e-mails about things that need polishing on the website.
Please let me know what you think about the idea and what else could we put on that Wiki.
Regards,
Borys
PS. The wiki design will probably change -- right now it's my miserable attepmt to iminate the looks of the original site, our webmaster has nothing to do with it

The PolishLinux Wiki has been promoted to a "Featured site" of Wikidot.com -- you can see the link and an button-banner on the renewed main page of the Wiki farm. Nice.. hope it will bring us some new editors.
Just mentioning the editors... currently we got 2 changes made by external editors: Mandriva description has been enhanced, and the MEPIS description has been started. Thanks and we're waiting for more!
Very nice!
Good to see it's gaining some recognition and contributions. Such a thing is good for sites with "static" content like yours.
It seems that introducting the Wiki was a really good idea. I just added Zenwalk to the distro comparison: Zenwalk vs Slackware thanks to the efforts of the guys from Zenwalk forums. Also, Mandriva and Fedora Core features has been updated.
I finally implemented a script in Ruby that lets me transfer the content from wiki to wordpress almost effortlessly, so from now on the changes on the Wiki will be exported to the vortal immediatelly after accepting them.
Cool! It seems like going to forums of these distros and asking if anyone would like to add it to the distro comparisons is a good idea.
Nice work!
