Designed for Firefox

I would recommend removing the "Designed for Firefox" text on the bottom of the site. It's certainly not a good practice to design websites for a specific web browser, and designing specifically for Firefox is as evil as designing for IE.

It would be much better to make the website w3c compliant and then put the "Valid XHTML" mark instead.

Unfortunately, it's not the case since there is something about 100 validation errors on the main page: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nuxified.org%2F

Thus, I would just suggest removing the text for now.

This topic has sprung up

This topic has sprung up once already. Smiling

Well I'll remove it, not a big deal.

As for XHTML validation, like any other portal, it is quite hard to validate and keep a dynamic site like this validated. You can even make the whole design itself valid and still have some users post html codes that don't validate. Some effort can (and has) been made to minimize the number of errors and the site is hence much cleaner than most, but I'm not sure about full validation.

Yep, I know - I had the same

Yep, I know - I had the same problem with PolishLinux. Although most of the pages are valid XHTML, I removed the information beacuse it just happens that someone puts a link in the comments with & instead of & or some other unvalidating code (like unclosed tags).

But saying that you design for Firefox is just nothing to be proud of - that's why I suggested removing it Sticking out tongue

removed

Yeah, I removed it. The point behind the note was to promote Firefox and the fact that the site really does work best with Firefox and firefox-based browsers. But to be honest I checked it in IE as well where it looks decent as well.

Since Firefox is not the only Free browser then it doesn't have to be specifically mentioned.

All points taken and I

All points taken and I agree. I don't care about that note that much. Sticking out tongue
