Have you tried elive? I did and was quite impressed by it. Well I am actually quite impressed by Enlightenment 17 anyway, but elive had certain additional features.

For example it has a special control panel that has both futuristic animation and sounds. It reminds you of those techie science fiction movies and their computers.. almost sounds like Star Trek.

What do you think about using such widgets on a regular desktop? Can the pure coolness be combined with usefulness?
