Was talking with Teron on IRC a bit and got to the subject of Beryl which reminded me of my problem with it. While 3D desktop is not really a must-have for productivity, when everything works smooth with it except one thing I gotta wonder why that one thing doesn't.

Looks like Nintendo's Wii may play a more important role in the GNU/Linux world than we thought. According to this video it is possible to control beryl window manager using Wiimote. If this is possible then I imagine replacing a mouse completely might be possible as well, which is a big deal if people find it easier to interact with their computer using a "remote" rather than a mouse.

Did you notice that the most flourishing area of gaming on GNU/Linux are deathmatch, arena style first person shooters (FPS)? We have Nexuiz, AlienArena, OpenArena, Tremulous, Quake 3 etc. and it's all about running around shooting (or fragging) as many bots as possible with extra juicy blood and meat butchering effects.

I am planning on buying ATI Radeon 9250 or 9250SE for some time now, and will probably do it this week. However, I am getting mixed opinions about this. Lately, a few people I talked to advised me not to buy ATI because it sucks on GNU/Linux. However, I checked to which series does 9250 belong and it is R200 for which there are stable working Free Software drivers.
