Nokia bought Symbian, which has a big majority market share among smartphones (65%), and releasing it as freedomware under the Symbian Foundation.

I can hook my mobile phone, which is Sony Ericsson K310i, to the computer via an USB cable and then move files from and to it. Now I'm wondering if it could be possible to install an alternative free GNU/Linux based OS on it this way. Normally it doesn't show anything in the system folder and seems to hide some things in other places as well, but maybe there is a way to reveal this?
