By the way this will be compiled for i686, not i386. Does anyone use anything older?

I doubt there are many.. You'll probably be safe compiling it for i686. Infact, you can count that as a feature, optimized for present computing architecture standard. Smiling

try QEmacs if you think GNU Emacs or XEmacs is too big, but don't except many features and the extenability of Emacs in this clone Smiling

How could we turn that into "FINE"? That would be a cool name. Laughing out loud

Hmm, now that you reminded me of HHGG, is there some way we can get 42 in there?

Why not give the first release version number 42.0.0?

Please add chkrootkit. Having chkrootkit installed on disk doesn't make sense because rootkits will just replace it by a fake, but on a rescue cd it makes a lot of sense.

Install to a rescue

Install to a rescue partition? That does sound great, however it is not really necessary, so put that in version 2.0.

This looks like it's gonna be a great rescue CD. If you'd like we can put it as a featured "community project" on Nuxified.org homepage? You are making it and you are part of this community which also gives some suggestions, so it should fit.

Also, do you have a logo? Maybe we can make a nice logo for "DON'T PANIC". Smiling

Actually I'll have a feature in the first build script to do that. It's really just cutting off the last step of turning the distro into an ISO image.

And yeah, if anyone has a logo (perferably in SVG) I might use it.

Hey, that panic button could be made in inkscape and turned into a really nice logo. I might give it a shot when I catch time.

Cheers
