One of the areas where Free Software alternative seemed lacking were accounting applications. Well, maybe GNUCash 2.0.0 which has just been released helps things. According to DesktopLinux.com and the GNUCash.org project site itself it's a big leap forward.
So what about?

Hmm, interesting, I wonder how GnuCash compaires with a formerly proprietery product which is now Free (I think it is) namylp TurboCash?

Oh I didn't know about TurboCash. Well seems the picture with accounting applications is just getting better and better in a Free Software world.
I'll have to try both at some point.

Indeed
Now there is even less reason for people not to switch over.

TurboCash is written with Delphi (which is proprietary technology), and won't run under GNU/Linux.
Ah there is the catch. Thanks for a clarification Whistler.
It should be noted that TurboCash is planning a GNU/Linux version in the future, and if anyone is interested in their software, they should go and show support in the forums.
however, it does seam likely that the GNU/Linux version will be kylix based and thus restricted to i386-compatible systems.
