Ok..I know it isn't Open Source, but this is my lovely OSX desktop with a dual head setup. I have got very used to it, even though [as you will notice] I have two different resolutions. Open apps; FireFox, Thunderbird, Irssi, AdiumX.
Looks nice, of course, but the forum post you are displaying from another screen describes everything OS X is not.
