Joomla! CMS

As I got a bit interested in content management systems, I did a bit of research on free ones (well, I did a google search, to be honest).

I stumbled on Joomla! CMS which seems very good (warning: my experience with CMS's as administrator is flat zero) and is licensed under GPL.

Anyway, just wanted to mention it as an option, in case you weren't aware of its existence. I wasn't, but then again, I am a complete newbie when it comes to CMS's.

I was aware of it. Smiling

Infact I pondered with the idea of switching the Libervis.com site to it (although I dropped the idea for now).

I am not sure how suitable it would be for this site though because Joomla seems to have a seamless integration with SMF and not phpbb and I'm not really looking to turn this site into a full fledged portal like libervis.com, just a forum centered site with some portal like blocks to make things easier on users (recent posts, solutions (your idea!) and stuff like that). And that can be achieved with portal solutions much more native to phpbb than Joomla (such as MX-System.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Smiling

Cheers

Another good one is tikiwiki, although it is a true CMS, for all types of content, and it's forums module doesn't match phpbb2.x's in simplicity, in my humble opinion.

Oh, and the next recommendation would be be Plone, which the Free Software Foundation runs (fsf.org).
