well, I've been missing a lot of posts during the comversion, and I'm really not into mass forum reading sessions... So I have a lot of unread posts pn the forums that I won't read anyway; as this is a low-trafic forum where it's easy to keep up with posts when you read live, this is rather annoying. Is there a way to mark all posts as read in a particular forum (or the whole site) ?

There should be, in my opinion, but doesn't seem to be at the moment. I've searched for a module or any way to implement this and there seem to be some possible solutions lieing around. I will let you know when it's implemented.

Thanks

Mark all as read: implemented!

This feature has been put up. Simply go to the forum index and click on the "mark all as read" link in the list menu before forum list (above new topic button).

That should mark all topics and posts as already read and get you rid of all those "new" links and icons. Smiling

Of course when there is a new post you'll see it as new, but at least now you can reset them all to read once you're confident you've read them all or simply don't want to read them all anyway.

Cheers

Hmm.. maybe it is? If you've looked at all the new posts from the "recent topics" and "recent comments" box and went to the forum index afterwards it would all already be read so there's nothing to set as read.

If not then I guess I have some more hacking on my hands (though hacking on drupal is much cleaner than most other stuff). Smiling

no, it definately is not.

no, it definately is not.  Right now, for example, I clicked on the (read) "Questions and Suggestions" link on the front page and was greeted with two new topics inside.

Okay, I'll have to take a closer look on this then. It seems that within actual forums the new stuff actually is normally marked as unread while on forum index the forum where these new posts were aren't getting marked as unread.

So the problem seems to be only partial.

Thanks

I've temporarily disabled

I've temporarily disabled the "mark all read" feature till I figure out the problem, but also to see if, after disabling it, would marking unread work properly.

I'll keep you posted.
