I know you have your own lives and are busy with other things. Nuxified.org is certainly not your whole life (as Libervis Network is mine for example). Eye

Therefore I wont ask for more than you can afford doing. However, I will point out to the needs we have and maybe you can find some way you can help in any of those areas.

- We need more topics! - new topics is vital to making and keeping the forums active. The more interesting topics we have the greater number of potential new members, because any particular topic may hit their particular interest. Best topics are those that are engaging and that give some input, but ask for feedback as well and topics that make people *want* to reply and participate.

- We need more people. - We need people not only to ask questions, but to answer them as well. Do you have a friend who knows a good deal about GNU/Linux, BSD, OpenSolaris and Free Software in general? Maybe you can mention Nuxified.org to them. You can also link your site and ask your friends to link to Nuxified.org. This is actually something that we as moderators should encourage other members to do, especially when we see a satisfied member (in that case it would probably require only a little nudge to have them promote the site in some way).

- We need content. - This is something the writers team is working on, mainly, but anyone may have certain ideas for good articles, well you might consider publishing them here. Also, if you find yourself in a situation where you know about someone wanting to write something interesting about Free Software (on a technical level) and they don't appear to mind posting it somewhere else than their blog or even don't yet know where to publish it, suggesting Nuxified.org would be a good idea.

We have to create a buzz around Nuxified.org and we have to make it the best, not so much in features, but in the way we as a community behave and in creating the friendliest atmosphere. Features and technical uniqueness of these forums are a bonus of course. Smiling

So let's get buzzing!

Thank you
Daniel

How's this for increasing

How's this for increasing the popularity of nuxified?: If you see a question you can answer somewhere else on the web, in a place where it is off-topic (so NOT another help forum! Eye ), post the question and answer to nuxified, and post a link to this q&a post in the place where you found the question.

I already started doing this.

Hm I can see how can that

Hm I can see how can that bring people in. Smiling

However we should be careful not to go overboard with that so it doesn't get considered as some kind of spamming. If not overdone it is probably fair that if you found the question on some other forum which hasn't been answered for a while and know the answer, but would rather post it here, that you post it here. And you are in a way helping by linking them from there to the solution.

The typical situation to do

The typical situation to do this is where answering the question in the place it was asked would be spammy, because it causes off-topic threads. You're helping everyone: the person who asked the question in the wrong place gets an answer and a better place to ask next questions, and the owner of the other site keeps a clean site.

Again, don't do this in other help forums and other places were the question would be on-topic, that's spamming. Also, if a topic/page already contains a link to nuxified, it's pointless spamming to add more.
