How about processors?
OK, so I was thinking, what is everyone's favourite pieces of hardware, in this poll it will be processors
So, my favourite is SPARC, because they are open source, and relatively cheap to pick up second hand, as well as fast
So err.....answer

I've only ever tried x86 processors, but I'd love to try out SPARC as well as PPC. I might be able to pick up an old apple for a nice low price once the processors change, and a SPARC based computer if I have the space.
Since I've only ever tried x86, I'll have to go with that, but AMD, not Intel.

/me would like to try out some more
I have used
x86, ppc, ppc-64 and alpha
Would like to try out all the rest, including the new intel macs
If it is like they say 4xs faster i would love to see it, the G5 range was uber fast. I was amazed at that!
Would like to try any other but

I voted x86 because that's all I've used except for old PowerPC 604e on 180Mhz when I had Power Macintosh 7300 and Motorola 68K one in even older Macintosh SE FDHD. I never used intel though so AMD all the way for me (currently using Athlon XP).
Cheers
Daniel

I've only tried x86, though I hear good things about PPC and SPARC.

I think so. PPC processors are made by IBM so I guess that as long as they keep supporting it they wont dissappear. I hear they have something called Power 5 now and used for their servers.

IIRC Cell contains, apart from those parallel things, a PPC. So PPC is far from dead, it's part of what may be the processor of the future!
