Does anyone know if it is possible to use PXE network booting to boot a live CD? Maybe extract the files from the ISO into a folder that the pxelinux boot file references?
I didn't even know what PXE is until I looked at the wikipedia page on PXE. Hm maybe it helps somewhat.
I've once wondered if I could extract an iso to a prepared partition and boot off of that partition. Never actually tried it, but could be interesting.
It's not really the same thing, but there may be some similarities to the process.. maybe if you extract the iso to a remote directory or something..
I installed using the PXE boot capability of a laptop that didn't have a CD drive (since it died) using the netboot image of Ubuntu and preseeding using a Kubuntu seed file. I was just curious if a similar thing could be done with a LiveCD and if anyone had tried it. The laptop has Linux now, so it doesn't really matter. :-D
