QUALCOMM and Mozilla Develop Open Source Version of Eudora Email Program - QUALCOMM Incorporated and the Mozilla Foundation, today announced that future versions of Eudora® will be based upon the same technology platform as the open source Mozilla Thunderbird™ email program. If the "unique feature set" is truly unique than that's great.

A free Eudora will make the switch to a completely free system easier for them. And of course it might even mean some extra users of this program. There probably will be a linux version (it's gecko based after all), and I certainly would like to try it.
