Request for original screenshots

Request for original screenshots

As you might have noticed, in (almost) every system description on PolishLinux.org (take for example Ubuntu, Fedora Core or FreeBSD) there is a random screenshot attached showing an example desktop running the described OS.

There are quite a few screenshots already, but we need more, since some OS-es still do not have one. I would prefer screenshots that have never been published before (i.e. your current desktop) to make it more trustworthy. It's even better if the screenshot presents some application or feature that is unique to the described OS (but this is not a requirement - if you have a nice screenshot of yourfavorite distro, it's fine too).

If you are interested in participating, please just send me 2 files:

a) the screenshot file
b) a 200px-width thumbnail of this screenshot

If you could also name the 2 files using the following pattern:
distroname_version_desktop_yournick.png
distroname_version_desktop_yournick_thumb.png
it would be highly appreciated (this way I can just upload the files and they are automatically fetched by the site engine).

Hope you like the idea and send me tons of original screenshots as a contribution Smiling
Here is the e-mail if some of you don't know it, yet:

Cheers,
michuk

I'll make some screenshots

I'll make some screenshots of Ubuntu install. I'll have to do some customizations though to make it more unique, though I already use an alternative ubuntulooks theme using blue colors instead of orange.

Btw, we also have a screenshots gallery here so feel free to sift through it: http://www.nuxified.org/image/tid/42

Maybe you could find some good ones there too.

desktop screenshots

Thanks librevisco. We prefer screenshots of real desktops (working system after installation) with some apps specific to the described OS.

Currently we are lacking screenshots of Yoper (http://polishlinux.org/linux/yoper/), Xandros (http://polishlinux.org/linux/xandros/), DesktopBSD (http://polishlinux.org/bsd/desktopbsd/) and PC-BSD (http://polishlinux.org/bsd/pc-bsd/), but also for systems that we already have some screenshots, we would like to have more so that the "random desktop" is really random Sticking out tongue

Alright, I think I'm just

Alright, I think I'm just gonna take a screenshot with what I've got here. The only things custom are the different GTK theme (icons are the same as after install) and a new desktop background. I can launch some application that was included to showcase that, like maybe gThumb, gimp or sound juicer...

I've sent you some shots.
thanks for your shots
