Looking for soundcard recommendations. My onboard one borked, it only outputs to the right speaker, even in the BIOS setup or when using other speakers.
I have a Terratec Aureon 5.1 PCI, and I'm really happy with it. Good sound, no problems with Linux.
The only thing I miss a little is the midi-port, but there's a connector for that so I think I will buy that one soon to be able to connect my 303 to the computer.
Sound Blaster Audigy SE, it only comes with one hole for linein/microphone, so it does not work in linux. That was why I got a soundcard to have a working microphone.
Unfortunatly, I don't really have a better sugestion. I ended up buying an obsolete card that I have in my other computer just so I would not have to search through dated faq's from 2005 or earlier.
I am using a Creative Ensoniq (snd-ens1371) card and it works right out of the box under Debian GNU/Linux.

Not sure if you already decided on one. I would take a look at sound blaster live! cards.
