Could we get this organised. A Nuxified team? This should replace the "Moderator" and I propose even the "Site Admin" titles and empower the members of this community to look after it.

Nothing really more to be said. It's been discussed in IRC and approved as a good idea, so I reckon final discussion is well due as well as a decision on the matter.

Thanks.

I would seriously love to do this. I mean, I am pretty responsible most of the time, and I guess I could do with the learning, and also, although I am new, I have been at Linuxforums for about a year now, so I am here to stay Smiling

maybe the moderators but NOT admin
the admin panel has quite a few things that could fsck up, eg with the database
maybe mods
but then there would be no need for mods
and it is all good and well just now cause we are all mates, but in a while we wont know, and not trust other newer users, thus they may need moderated, to keep things in line

Klepas, you mean have all members as sort of moderators inside a big nuxified team?

It might be that I misunderstood you on IRC then. That actually sounds very good, but also possibly a little bit utopian. I mean, it is fine with all of you guys currently onboard, but as dressed_in_black said it wont always be this nice circle so giving certain powers to just about anyone that registers could end up in a disaster unfortunately (if any of the newer members we wouldn't know abuses the greater control he may be given).

We can create something else though, and that's basically what was proposed on Libervis.com and is to be implemented in 2006; a honored position ranking between mods and normal members. Actually it might be alot like trusted penguins on LinuxForums.org. They and moderators would then form this team of mutually trusting people that can make this forum tick the way it was supposed to.

I think that having a certain group of people practically "overpowering" the rest in a community doesn't need to mean that forums aren't community controled; it is all about listening to the community and keeping as many people as possible in mind when making decisions. This is a principle I've obliged myself to follow and thus moderators would be coordinated in that way (they too would generally like that approach). So it in the end all comes down to the community. The team of mods and honored/trusted people take care of the forums and the rest influence it through the power of their voice and opinion.

All we have to is listen and keep the communication all over board alive.

Thanks
Daniel

Sorry, I should clarify. I meant that both the Admin and the mods have the same title, however Daniel still retains admin prowess and we just have mod powers. Smiling

So we have:
A bunch of mods (whoever they are, 10 people?)
An admin

...who all share the same title, but the admin still has admin powers and we don't. Then there are the ordinary users. Smiling

I see.. well the only change to be made for that would be to rename all mods and my title to "nuxified team" Smiling

Exactly what I was after. Thanks Smiling

Ah, that sounds like an excellent idea, so libervis keeps his admin powers so that nothing messes up, but it is all equal except from that for the mods + admin, great idea klepas Smiling

Sorry if it took so long to get what I meant into the correct words, onlinebacon. And yep, you've nicely summarised it. Sticking out tongue

Alright, if all current moderators say yes to the idea then I will make it so.

In concern to powers/rights/permissions, in all respect Danijel will remain admin, and us mods, however we will all share the same title (the thing underneath our usernames) - "Nuxified Team" or something very much like it.

That ought to clear things up. Smiling

will that mean any user that joins is part of this team?

Nope, just mods and admin, but if we have a honored position of some kind (ranking between mods and normal users) I think the idea is to put them under the same title...hm..but title is all those would have..that's what makes them feel more important in the community, having the title they deserved..
