This site looks best in Firefox

Regarding  This site looks best in Firefox          in the footer;
While I can see what the point of this is, promotion and all. A site should be able to view on any browser, People should be able to freely choose their broswer and not be converted because their favourite site is best on X browser.
I know it is not forcing the user but just my 2pence

This site was actually tested in IE as well and it looks decent in it as well. However it was indeed designed with firefox and does look best in it. It is not the fault solely of Nuxified.org that the site doesn't look *as good as* in firefox, but the IE for not supporting some basic standards.
However, the site is usable in all browsers and looks fairly good in all.
That note in the footer simply states the truth and shouldn't be something to annoy or discriminate anyone. It's not like we're going to extremes by blocking IE users with messages such as "you're running a substandard browser, please download firefox to view this site".
Of course though, if that message in footer annoys the lot of you it'll be removed.
Thanks
"looks best in firefox" is not correct. maybe "designed for the Gecko rendering engine" or something, though I don't doubt it looks any worse in KHTML
I didnt mean soley IE, there are plenty of browsers lynx, links, elinks, opera, safari, mozilla etc heh
And it wasnt ment to be a dig at it..Â
Maybe it is best that this note be removed then since its meaning is apparently very vague. You guys are right.
If you agree I'll remove the note. It's really not a big deal.
you know what ? make it say "designed for free browser software" with a link explaining "free" on gnu.org

Haha great idea!
Well that might be good too, though the "free browser" would right a bell in most people's minds as "firefox".
I'm not sure how clear and conclusive would that be. When you say it's made for firefox primarily that's pretty clear. When you say nothing, well.. then you say nothing.
But when you say a free browser that's a little bit more vague.
So.. well, vote on it. Let it be what you think is best.
I think a little rewording to "designed for firefox" is enough - that'll keep the spreadfirefox link
and would be correct.
Well it's not there so much because of that affiliate link (which actually produces an impression on spreadfirefox site for every click) as it is about simply letting users know that the site is primarily made with firefox in mind, rather than IE.
Other free browsers tend to follow standards as well as firefox so it should look pretty good in them too, but firefox is of all of them the most known.
In any case I am fine with it, removing it, changing it or keeping as is.
