Anyone planning to buy OpenMoko?

Just wondering if anyone around here is planning to buy a Neo Freerunner phone from OpenMoko.

I was thinking of doing so actually, for quite a while, but am not sure yet. There was some turbulence in its development and it is still not quite mainstream ready, at least in terms of software, but I'm not writing it off as a possible replacement for my aging mobile phone.

later

I just switched to a GSM cell phone service (AT&T) that actually gets decent signal in my house unlike Verison (which uses CDMA unlike every other cell service), so now I can get a phone with OpenMoko, which I will when it matures. And a camera would be really nice.

Cool. Yeah, a camera would

Cool.

Yeah, a camera would indeed be nice, though even with Freerunner I think it's possible to buy one and plug it via its USB port, but that might be a bit clunky. Maybe some future phone for the OpenMoko project will have it.

Alternatively, you can get one of the other phones which have a camera and support erasing and installing a new OS on it, and then install OpenMoko to it.
