Favourite Linux Games?
Mon, 2007-03-19 10:25
Hey all,
I've recently changed to Linux, and I enjoy the occasional game (or two).
I was wondering what sort of games that Linux has, and was also wondering what your favourite was.
Please be sure to post the URL to the game also, as I may be interested in buying it
Thanks,
Marky

Well, I like playing FlightGear, Knights (with GNUChess or Sjeng as chess-engines) and sometimes Scorched3D.
Also I like playing some commercial classics in free engines, like Ultima 4 in XU4, Ultima 7 in Exult and Doom 1 and 2 with PrBoom (for which I sometimes like building maps with Yadex).
Scorched 3D? I have to try that!
Occassional game or two for me as well.
I like OpenArena (for either a stress shootout or stress build up
) and Battle For Wesnoth for some sharping up of my strategic thinking.
But there more great games on GNU/Linux, like TORCS (car racing) or Nexuiz (absolutely stunning arena-style first person shooter) etc.
Yes, it's real cool with those big explosions blasting away half of that island.
And there's also mods for it where you can play in a city and things like that.
It's a good way to spend a little time.

Anybody tried frozen bubble? It's just a simple game of popping colored bubble but highly addicting. I had to uninstall it, otherwise I could not get any work done.
Yep I sure did try it. Quite a cool game for killing some time.
Lol mate you're that addicted lol...I've played Frozen Bubble...quite often...it's still on my computer but I'm on the laptop now(running Windows XP)...so I'm not tempted now...
Frozen Bubble - the first game I ever played on GNU/Linux.
