Reading this monday's Distrowatch Weekly I came across what seems to be an interesting new distribution: Granular.

Even the screenshot shown on Distrowatch seemed rather peculiar as it is KDE yet much different from what KDE is usually made to look like, and I actually liked that. The Granular web site also looks very good, slightly reminding of the former Ubuntu site. Even before actually trying the distro just from looking at screenshots and the site I have a feeling these guys know how to make things appealing and easy. Something tells me their distro could be quite good as well.

Granular is based on PCLinuxOS so it is likely to use PCLinuxOS's version of RPM and allow installing software easily with synaptic. I have downloaded PLOS and am yet to try it. Besides that I also have EasyLFS in the queue and am thinking of trying Granular at some point as well.

Has anyone tried it already? If yes, or intend to try it, please feel free to share your opinions on it here.

Dead link on the

Dead link on the screenshot?

Otherwise it looks like a nice distro. Shame there is no PPC port.

That was linking to

That was linking to distrowatch which apparently tends to screw up its links with "forbidden" errors too often. I changed it to link to the Granular general screenshots gallery.
