This is a god damn tough question. After all the talk about establishing the framework for the game fest this one scares the hell out of me.

Why?

Well, I've sent a second mail already which invited people who already registered to provide feedback on threads related to establishing the rules.. and just how many actually responded? Barely any. We have responses from already active members + maybe one or two.

When we start scheduling matches it will be absolutely essential for everyone to show up to confirm that they are ok with the schedules and that they will come at those times (to basically set an appointment). What if not everyone shows up for this? Heck, what if barely half shows up or even less?

Suffice it to say that if this happens this game festival will be dead before it started. And after a few mailings that left barely responded by the registered players I am not feeling very assured. Wtf are you waiting people? If you signed up to a thread which says that you sign up only if you are serious about participating then yes we expect you to show up when we ask you to or resign in a way that we can see so that we know where we stand!

Thank you

Shifting gears

It may take a while to grab everyone's attention. Sometimes I go days without checking email. I may not check forums. I may be busy during a particular time period. And what if you are committed but have nothing to add (comment) except to show up and play?

When we make a final announcement with exact dates (and give a week advance if possible), we can then expect people to show up (eg, during the week) and confirm that they are in AND will show up to their first scheduled match or will have the option to say that they cannot make it. We will need to be patient during the first few days/matches or we will lose many a hair strand. Like the IETF saying (paraphrased), provide everything and more, expect less than required.

I wouldn't be surprised if numerous people want to enjoy game play, but don't want to see the ugly details of how the fest gets put together.

PS: let me know if you want me to work on a schedule builder.. See item #2 in the comment at http://www.nuxified.org/topic/should_we_accept_late_registrations_for_the_game_fest#comment-10555

You're right. Well, what

You're right.

Well, what happens happens. It's up to us to do what we can do to make it work for as many cases possible. The rest is destiny. Sticking out tongue

Well, I currently don't

Well, I currently don't have internet access at home because I moved, but I have at least 3 places where I can go on the internet, so I should still be able to play. And once I have internet at my new place, there shouldn't be any problem anymore.

I may be 2 days late compared to the mail, but I will definitely show up. Smiling (just don't make it fall into the christmas holidays)

As for commenting on all the different topics, I haven't had time to read through all of them yet. Jose's posts are looooooong. xD

P.S: The new official site is very nice. Smiling

No problems man. If I am

No problems man. If I am frustrating with anyone you aren't the one (and same goes for Jose and others who posted feedback or voted). You guys help quite a lot. Of course I can't nor wont name who I'm frustrated about. Laughing out loud Wouldn't be a very good PR move. Laughing out loud

Actually it's noone that I'm frustrated about (and I'm not even frustrated right now), just sometimes I get frustrated about the fact that feedback (in terms of number of people giving it) is so limited. Nothing else.

Of course, it shouldn't go into the xmas, I'll try to announce things soon enough (2 days notice minimum) and yes Jose writes long posts. Sticking out tongue
