If you don't have a jabber account or wish to make a new one for any reason here's one nice option for you. You can register your address to be

thanks to Kizmet from Aeria Networks.

In the future we might have a special shorter dedicated nuxified and libervis domains for these servers which may look even cooler and Aeria may host a server for them as well.

There are also alternative domains: t3ll.info and tx-rx.info. The port is 5222.

You use a client to sign up, such as Gaim or Kopete. In Gaim you go to the tools menu and choose "accounts". In a dialog that appears click on "add" and in a new dialog's "protocol" drop down choose Jabber and fill in the info in fields below.

No, you actually click the register button there as gaim allows that. I think that in Jabber the first login is essentially the registration and then later on you just used the same info to log in to that account.

Is that very insecure I'm not sure. I'm neither a security nor Jabber expert. Sticking out tongue

I'm going to start switching my IM to jabber (I dunno anyone with jabber accounts... so I'll stop using MSN service but will leave Yahoo! on for a while Sad )
