[Solved] Mac Screen n SSH

Hey all,
I am having a problem with screen and my mac. Basically, I ssh into my Ubuntu server and everything works fine, including the backspace key. Then, when I start the screen program I can not use backspace, it acts as delete key would. ie I need to go over the letter then hit delete. So it does not backspace, just delete.
It is quite annoying as I keep irssi in a screen session, and I often make mistakes while typing quickly..
Anybody any ideas?
