Nuxified.com for your homeless Freedomware project

I've just updated Nuxified.com specifying currently supported projects under Nuxified.com, which are Freedomware projects hosted by the server of Nuxified.com.

So far it's mostly played a rather low profile role of simply hosting projects of some friends here from the Nuxified community (passiflora later moved, but GotBase.org came in). However, in the (near) future it may also host some other projects devised and started within the Nuxified community. For example, an idea that was discussed long ago was about a video site, though that's not yet assured.

Technically, freedomware-gamefest.com qualifies as one too, which was started here and is deeply related to freedomware.

If anyone has a homeless project that you'd like hosted somewhere, feel free to contact me or post below. Depending on requirements and currently available server capacity it may be accepted.

Cheers

small script collection

How about opening a section for small scripts like the ones in http://www.nuxified.org/topic/personal_scripts ?

Well, that's a really nice

Well, that's a really nice opening page. I think this also should help to get a bit more attention to the projects.
More attention always is good, as long as posts about your project are in a language you can understand or get translated in a way that makes sense. ;-)

I also like the idea of having the script-collection there. Maybe that could be made a project where everybody on Nuxified can contribute.

I could offer my PMS (the project-management-system I use for the EasyLFS-site) for this. With a few enhancements I think it might be able to do that job required to let this thing roll smoothly.

Good ideas. The script

Good ideas.

The script collection section could be put on scripts.nuxified.com and could be implemented in one of two ways:

1. Use Nuxified forums to upload scripts and then link to them directly along with a description of purpose, from a page at scripts.nuxified.com

2. Set up a system for uploading scripts right on Nuxified.com, with something like PMS and then redesign the output (style).

I think the latter might be a good idea, since it makes use of another project by a Nuxified member. I'd be interested in implementing that. Smiling

PMS is the same software powering EasyLFS site, right? Smiling

Thanks

Over the weekend I did some

Over the weekend I did some work on the PMS.
I updated the used classes to the latest versions, which in most cases required no work, except for the session-class, which is not compatible anymore to previous versions (but now at least is compatible to regular PHP-sessions).
Also I changed the template-handling. Before I simply read the template-files and replaced manually, now all that is handled by my template-class, which makes things a lot cleaner.

Next I will see that I remove all the HTML-code from the PHP-files and put it into templates, so that the whole interface can easily be changed just by editing the templates and the CSS-file.
While doing that I will try to switch the whole HTML-code from HTML 4 Transitional to XHTML 1.1.

That as a little update on what's going on, just in case this project might be considered to be used for the script-project, or any other project.

Some more changes might be coming up too, I'm still thinking about those.
Maybe, if this could be if interest, we might open an extra topic for this and discuss what could be useful.

Great.

I've opened a new thread for discussing the new scripts collection site, mainly oriented to the use of PMS for it.

I can offer mirroring services too for those large .iso and other large files, could be good to have a UK mirror sometimes i suppose Eye

Yes, that might be a nice idea. Thank you!
I'd just have to incorporate the possibility to specify mirrors into my system. But that probably wouldn't be a bad idea anyway.
