OpenArena CTF scheduling

I received a PM from the EGUSS leader saying that they couldn't play tuesday, but aren't still sure about Thursday. If yes, they'd apparently like to do it on 10 PM rather than 9 PM.

Otherwise, in his own words, "sunday would be perfect" and weekends in general are best. I hope he does post here himself.. I shouldn't be the carrier of messages in this internet age.

Actually of all the teams only Team 2 may be a little hard to get, but Team 1 and Team 3 have people on IRC or on these forums. We'd only need to buzz DeathZone for Team 3. In the worst case we'll look for more backups to drop in in case we don't have the trio.

So if you wish to contact you can contact them on IRC. Team 1 has Fliker09 almost daily and reptiler and Jose sometimes come too (and are encouraged to come more). Team 2 has spyro_boy on IRC all the time and Atma sometimes comes in too. Team 3 has Skateinmars and vostorga online often too.

Yes. Team with most points moves on, but since wins get you most points it pretty much comes down to wins.

reptiler said no matches possible before Wednesday (until after Christmas). I haven't heard from Fliker09.

reptiler time zone is gmt+8 which is 13 hours ahead of me gmt-5. In my time zone, I can meet today (tuesday) or tomorrow for practice. I may also be able to meet during the rest of the week but may not be able to without 1 or 2 days advanced notice.

Let's see what these two say before proposing a fixed time. I will also email this message to them.

I propose around Fri 9pm gmt-5 == sat 10am gmt+8 to meet for some practice matches, discuss strategy, etc. The key is to get the team together and have an opponent. If we can find online opponents that there is no problem, but the ideal situation would be to simulate a real match by getting both teams together at the same time and have us play each other on the actual server with actual delays (ping).

Maybe then between 8:30 and 9:30 pm gmt-5 we can manage to get together or irc to start something and then play for an hour or more.

Regardless, anyone that is paying attention and wants a practice match can show up at that time. If more than 3 per team are available (because other players joined up) then maybe we can have an informal little tournament among the teams or I'll even sit out some matches.

I'll forward this to Fliker09. Also, anyone that shows up early to irc, invite others listening to consider an informal little tournament or at least try and recruit players in case we are short of the needed 6.

I just realized Flicker09 has a tight schedule (see the nexuiz or oa 1-1 threads). We might still be able to practice at the time suggested though without Flicker09. To accommodate Flicker09, reptiler would have to play between 2 and 5 am gmt+8, tues - sat morning.

Anyone have any other suggestions or want to confirm fri 9 ish pm gmt-5 (give or take an hour maybe)?

Reptiler, will you be in the mood to play instead after the beers sat after 2am (ie, 1pm fri gmt-5)?

So FM vs. T.S, Sunday, December 30th 18 GMT+1 is good for both teams? I hope I understood correctly.

Actually, we didn't hear from them yet. If I don't hear from them within a week I think they'll be disqualified.

Thunder_PT said they wouldn't be available till February 22 which is too long to wait so their team was forfeited. This means you automatically won and don't need to do any more qualification matches. You have been qualified to proceed!

When we enter Stage 2 (as soon as Group 2 is done), we will set up a new layout of matches according to a single elimination bracket and then schedule those matches.
