OpenArena vs. Nexuiz

Yo.
I've played both, and I love'em both. I find myself playing OpenArena on some weekends more these days though, simply because it runs a bit faster for me and is.. well, easier to win.
(I play to let the frustration out, not to let even more frustration in!).
So which do you think is better?
And.... where do you frag better?

As I said in the poll, I have never player openarena.
On Nexuiz, I'm getting quite good with the Nex after playing a lot of Minstagib. Nowadays I dare to enter CTF games more and more.
Hmm Minstagib, if I remember right, that was the hardest level for me.. One of my favorite levels is the low gravity spacious one where everyone's jumping around platforms high up in the air..
I just had a round of OpenArena. I refer Nexuiz, but in single player OpenArena is better. In Multiplayer, OA didn't find any servers.
Yeah, I can't play multiplayer with those because of my connection so the multiplayer is not a variable I consider.. I think the situation for OA will improve on that as well though. There is no reason why it's popularity wouldn't be growing significantly.
I am yet to try OpenAreana. I don't game much..
I like openarena, a lot, its nice and easy to win at, which is something I like about games a lot
I also like nexuiz though
To be honest I haven't played either but I've only heard of OpenArena...and I hear of it quite often...Nexuiz...as I said I've never heard of it...chances are I'd prefer OpenArena...
Now that I know both rather well I'd have to say that I have no preference. Nexuiz has more appealing graphics, but I seam to prefer OA gameplay - the weapon/map/physics combinations that would be. (Still, a fine fast-paced minstagib match in dreckloch or so is always refreshing)
OpenArena also works much faster on older graphics cards. I bet it can fly easily even on onboard Intel GMA945.
I play OpenArena almost daily, I have lots of Quake Mods added to it to such as the Western Quake Mod, love the single player on it.
In general, if you have a crap ATI card, the default settings should be perfect, I get very very good FPS -- if you have a really good nice nvidia card
(luck bastards) then turn the settings up all the way and enjoy beautiful renders
. In single player mode: Its quick to setup and get into, deathmatch is my favorite. Multiplayer is also quiet easy and very addictive, my favorite maps are BASES3 and VOIDS4 -- a lot of people are online so youll never be alone.
Its quiet easy to install maps, just download any .pk3 file and move it into .openarea/baseoa. Anyways, its very fun.
I have tried Nexuiz, I found it too hard for my liking and my ATI was doing 12FPS on it so I really cant give a good review.
I have an ATI card, Radeon X800, and using it with free drivers (usually bundled), OpenArena works perfect with all settings turned to the max.
I didn't try any mods yet and I can't unfortunately play online because my connection is too laggy for that (EDGE + Satellite, not a good combination for real time online multiplayer). I sometimes play on our LAN though, usually with dad (since sisters are never really up for that sort of thing).
Cheers
You gotta be f***ing kidding me :|. Is Radeon X800 better then a Radeon M9200?
Because when I turn all the effects on blast, on single player: Laggy as hell with the frames.
The best I can do on single player is have the Player effect up on max. And have the texture effects on high and have the texture effects 1/2 way. Other then that, I start lagging.
I'm afraid X800 beats 9200 by far. Radeon 9200 uses an R200 series GPU while X800 uses newer R420.
Here is the relevant info on wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R200
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R420
Also the X800 is the fastest open sourced-driver graphics card you can get along with the x850
check http://www.free3d.org for glxgears benchmarks
(even though its not the best benchmark
)
X850 is a bit faster than X800 though. One of the X800 entries on that site is by me. It's a good reference for people who are looking for a supported card.
Nvidia cards should be showing up there some time soon too, as noveau driver continues being developed.
