Hello, everyone.
GNU/Linux Matters is looking for Linux users who are able to present GNU/Linux to everyday computer users (and nowadays, "everyday computer user" means "windows user", but we should also take into account Mac users).
Editors don't have to master DocBook, but they do have to know how to create DocBook documents. If you don't know anything about DocBook, but want to be an editor, all you have to do is study this page (nothing else). You should also be willing to learn to use subversion.
What to help us out? If you already have write permissions on one of our repositories, you're also allowed to commit stuff to this repository; if not, contact me. You'll also need an account on the tracker; contact me (gustavo # gnulinuxmatters dot org) and I'll create an account for you; you should tell me your desired username and password (you might want to encrypt the email).
The development site is http://tracker.gnulinuxmatters.org/fsgl/ and once you are an editor, please put your name on the author list (in /original/trunk/src/metadata/authors.xml).
Thanks in advance!
PS: The subversion repository is http://svn.gnulinuxmatters.org/fsgl/

Gustavo & Daniel --
You got my attention.
I am new to GNU/Linux (about 6 months), but I find I can explain the concepts pretty easily to people and I have taken it upon myself to evangelize for GNU/Linux. Also, I've been a journalist for 30 years, which sort of helps things in the writing realm.
I just printed out the page Gustavo suggested to take a look at, because I've never seen DocBook documents, and I'll give them a good read tonight.
Once I'm up to speed, I'd like to help. I'll contact Gustavo off-list (off-forum?) to proceed.
Thanks for all both of you do on behalf of GNU/Linux.

Hello!
Libervisco, thank you so much for summitting it to LXer!
Larry, it's great to count on you for this project! Also, it's a huge advantage that you're new to GNU/Linux, because it's very likely that many of us don't remember what it's like to being new to this operating system.
Because I just got home from Seville and it's very late, I'll create an account for you tomorrow.
Thank you!!
Cheers!
