PolishLinux engine upgraded, OpenID introduced
I have just upgraded PolishLinux.org engine to Wordpress 2.3.3 (before it still ran a stable 2.2 version). It took "a while" since we have messed with the WP code a log before and now upgrades are pretty painful, although with this upgrade I managed to move most of the additional featurs to plugins, so next ones should be smoother.
Also, we introduced OpenID login in PolishLinux.org, so if you just want to leave a comment and don't want to register, feel free to do it. The login form on the left side of the site accepts OpenID urls now. In fact, by logging to PolishLinux with OpenID te engine registers you anyway, so next time you login you are identified as the same user (you can also edit your Wordpress profile, introduce custom display name, etc).
Finally, we introduced a new way of identifying registered users (this also covers the OpenID users) in the comments. Now all registered users should be accompanied by a buddy icon next to their comment. This should add more credibility to the comments.
Hope you like the changes. If you have any more ideas of making PolishLinux.org better and more friendly, please let us know by leaving a comment here or starting a nw thread on our Nuxified-hosted forum.
