1.7 Mbps, which isn't bad at all; this connection is supposed to be 2Mbps, so the result is adequate.
As to mirrors, I get consistently good results from belnet.be (Bruxelles), and Swedish mirrors are often faster than German mirrors. belnet is nice as they mirror a lot of software, including gentoo and sourceforge.
I got 6 MBit/s here, which enables me to download stuff at over 600 KByte/s (theoretical max. should be 768 KByte/s, but I haven't seen this so far) when the server lets me.

you suck !
... is what you would read on other fora.
my friend who lives about 2km away has speeds like that, the lucky *insert slightly offensive noun here*, but it's not available here, in the largest residential area of town, yet...
Right, I'm the HK guy. Living and breathing the smoggy air between the skyscrapers.
Well, I wouldn't want to return to Germany, maybe for a while, but I got my life and a family here now, so it's pretty much final that I'm going to stay here.
But I guess we're drifting away into an offtopic-discussion...
I just tested and got 117 kilobits. That's a satellite download and it is nominally 384kbps, and sometimes is near that maximum. If I tested in 4AM or so it would probably be around 300kbps. I guess I'll try then.
Anyway, yeah it's way lower than what any of you guys have, but in this village it's best we've got at the moment. I'm going to get 1Mbit flat ADSL as soon as it becomes available here.
Edit: This thread isn't really "about nuxified" to be in that forum so I'm moving it to "The Community".
According to BandwidthPlace - Speedtest my conenction at college right now is 3.1mbs.
Which is pretty much... amazing. I love grabing ISO's at this rate, especially on UK mirrors.

I guess you might really hate me if I told you what I pay for that line. ;-)
it's not like I want to live in the PRoC anyway, even if it's a formerly British area. (you were the HK guy, right ?)

Cheers
I got 1.7megabits/s which I suppose is quite good, though I've no idea what it should be.
I got 3.4MBPS.
2.2 MBPS, but "only" 1.6 when I tried a second time
I got 840kbps, which is realistic as I am on a 1Mbit connection.
Heh mine is the slowest so far, and yet I pay dearly for it. Pure money waste.. ah well..
Well, I pay for a 16mb/s connection, really I usually get around 8mb/s. On that test I got 7.4mb/s
libervisco, I am yet to try it on GPRS, I would imagine that is very very slow
I use GPRS when I am in town to connect in cafe's, pubs and in the car.
Also, I need to check my home line yet too!
