Offlinedoes anyone know a linux distribution with true multiarch support for equal suipport of amd64 and ia32 (x86) software on one system ? Most amd64 distributions come with some approach to multiarch, which is, in all cases that I know of, «cheating»: there are packages like ia32-libs (debian,ubuntu...), ia32-libs-gtk (ubuntu) or emul-linux-x86-qt-libs (gentoo), and no possibility to grab x86 packages and throw them into a amd64 system just like that.

I have been having a good look at debian's plans for multiarch; it looks like there are plans to use dpkg 2.0 (in development afaict) in etch+1; ubuntu might support multiarch in edgy eft if debian gets far enough...
I believe gentoo has similiar plans, though I haven't really searched for information there.
