OfflineI don't have any but a few of my friends do which I'm pretty embarrassed by lol...I've never liked them...do you have an interest in these things? Like Neopets...tsk...lol...I always found it to be childish...what's your take.

I really think it's a waste of resources, which is pretty much expressed by the KDE-toy AMOR, which stands for "Amusing Misuse Of Resources".
It doesn't matter if you have a smilie, cat or naked girl, it's just a waste of resources, and when you're working you won't see it anyway, and if you're not working you're propably not on your computer, so you also won't see it.

Well I find them to be fun, but they're not very useful indeed. It'd be better, and maybe there already are such pets, for them to actually have a useful purpose combined with them being fun toys. For example a pet robot which also keeps an eye on things in your house while you're away and if anything happens sends you an SMS or something.. stuff like that.

As they are "Virtual" pets, I can only imagine that they are needed by people that are "Virtually" human: But not quite?
