I've voted "not bad". I'm not too impressed with the idea of windows-like applications on GNU/Linux (they're actually .exe files), but then again I don't know so much about it to write it off and it is a free language (even C# is AFAIK) so it can't be an outright bad thing definitely.
I don't actually know .NET, but to my experience VB.net apps just runs much slower than VB6 apps. However I agree that a free implemention of MS technology isn't something bad either.
I think it's definately good that it exists. The languages are free, that is true. so is the CLI. BUT Microsoft does not allow speed comparisons of CLI implementations.
.net is a good framework, probably better than java, and the languages are relatively pleasent, but nothing to rival python (which has a CLI implementation and a clone (boo) that integrates better into the CLI)
I hate it because it gives an acknowledgement to Microsoft. It's sad that all these developers contributed so much time to make it a sensational platform to develop on, I hear. They're even working on making a Mono PHP that I think is called PHP#. That's pathetic. And unfortunately C# is such a beautiful language.
No, for me, I'm sticking with Bluefish, PHP, PostgreSQL, and Ubuntu. (And perhaps integration with lighthttpd and XUL for some kinds of projects.) I don't want to develop on anything else ever again. I'm hooked for life like an old, demented Lisp hacker is (aka the infamous Paul Graham) for his platform.

What do you mean? Code

Thus the vague "not bad" vote.
Exist or not exist ?

Exist or not exist ?
Will it help the linux community or not ?
Could the code quality be better ? (I know... the answer here is YES !)Â
I don't think it will help
by tbuitenh | Fri, 2006-05-19 10:41I don't think it will help the linux community, but it doesn't do any harm either.
I voted "not bad" too

temporarily removed
by libervisco | Fri, 2006-05-19 15:19Hey, the rating widget messes up the top bar of the poll.
I temporarily removed it from the polls (and only polls) till I can figure out how to position it differently and in a way that wont disrupt it.
Thanks
I hate it because it gives

I'll just add that I don't
by free-zombie | Fri, 2006-05-19 18:48I'll just add that I don't approve of Linux-only applications being written in C#. and PHP# is pathetic. all non-M$ .net languages are pathetic.
DotGNU is another free .NET
