Why do you use the OS you do?
Well, I use solaris because it has nice features like Dtrace, and it is fast on my sparc, and it is 64-bit, and there are a LOT of packages for it. I also use gentoo because it is the best Linux distro out there for what I want to do, which is tinker, make fast, and play 
And I know youguys, so I donthave to say NO flame wars 
I use Gentoo since I find it easier to install than Debian (yes EASIER...I must be a nutter...), it has a very good package managment system in the form of portage, and it has many many different ways to install since you have a choice of three stages, as well as modified installs following non-official guides such as the Stage 1/3 install.
FC4 and jedi linux=desktop
FC4 = server
MacOSX = laptop
