Xorg, Nvidia, or someting else?
Since I have a 32" widescreen I had to create a custom screen resolution that fits for the wide experience.
I edited xorg.conf, added 1360x768, plus I had to ad a line to the "Monitor"-section, something I myself don't understand, so I got help from another guy with this. Anyway, after this the new resolution worked fine, everything looks right and the resolution now looks right.
There is just one thing. Since this change I can't play any form of movies, not in any of my movie applications (VLC, Gxine, Totem).
When I start a clip in VLC I get this error in terminal:
$ vlc
VLC media player 0.8.5 Janus
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (XVideo)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 ()
Serial number of failed request: 88
Current serial number in output stream: 89
By the way, this is the line I put in xorg.conf in the "Monitor"-section:
ModeLine "1360x768" 85.5 1360 1424 1536 1792 768 771 777 795
Just for sure I have backuped my old xorg.conf which I tried and with the old resolution movies work like a charm.
I'm on Ubuntu 6.06 with GeForce2 MX/MX 400 on a 32" Widescreen Samsung.
Just for the record, I'll also post my xorg.conf here:

How is that related to my problem?
Im not following here
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (XVideo)
You're using XVideo (xv), which didn't work for me. But then I switched to x11 and it worked.
To switch the video output in VLC, go to Settings>Preferences>Video>Output modules>Check "Advanced options" in the bottom-right corner.
Ok, where and how do I do this change?
You probably read my last post before I edited it.

Thanks alot, it worked
