Rio Karma broke

I am now mourning the loss of my Rio Karma portable digital audio player which I have had for about 3 months. It’s 20GB with support for Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP3, and WMA. Unfortunately, it is quite fragile. I accidentally dropped it several times. After the first few, it skipped sometimes. One of the clips on the the darker gray part came off after being next to one of my textbooks in my backpack, but then again I think any electronic device would suffer from that. Today, the scroll wheel came loose. I tried opening it up and putting the scroll wheel back on (which it didn’t; it might have worked with some superglue), but I ended up accidentally braking the lock switch and the case. Sad I now see what is so great about touch-sensitive and/or button navigation systems.

My replacement options seem to be the iriver H3x0, mpio HD300, mpio HD400, or TrekStor Vibez. I might just wait for a “pad” with OpenMoko that can play music. (I’d get the Neo1973 but it doesn’t have a camera.)

And I’m drinking my first kombucha.

EDIT:
After evaluating my replacement options, I think I’m going to get an iriver H320. It has a 20GB harddrive, no moving external parts (like the Karma’s scroll wheel or stick), and is supported by Rockbox. The prices on eBay are spectacular too: <100 USD!!
